The last time I went to Swagat, it tasted like someone new was cooking! The dishes were more flavorful, and I liked that they had chicken makhani (butter chicken) on the buffet line! They usually only have chicken tikka masala, so it was a nice change. Now if only they could add flavorful veggie samosas and mango lassi to their buffet... haha! I would say that this is the best place for Indian buffet in KC. It used to be Korma Sutra downtown (now named, Moti Mahal, and not to be confused with the Moti Mahal in N. KC, though they're owned by the same family). However, Korma Sutra/Moti Mahal no longer serves buffets. If you're looking for the best sit-down option for Indian, I'd recommend Sahara. But for those that are new to Indian food and would like a variety of things to try, Swagat is the better option. Don't forget to drink their chai! Happy eats!

Delicious Indian food dishes! Everything I've tried tastes amazing. Naan is crispy and fresh. Good portions and accommodating spice levels. Wonderful atmosphere with cozy seating and intricate decor. A must try if in the Zona Rosa area. I just wish they had one closer to where I live.

We came for Father's Day lunch and were surprised to see that they had a lunch buffet!!!!! I haven't had an Indian buffet in so many years, so I was excited. They have a really nice mix of vegetarian and meat dishes. I love that they also had raita and chutney, along with a hot coconut dessert beverage and chai. We got seated right away, and the first time through the buffet, the line was to the door!!! Service was great, we always had a full glass of water and plates were picked up fast. Lunch for adults on the weekend is 22$.

Delicious and have many gluten free items. They treated my children with respect. My three year old loved the bread, fruit, and coconut soup. He tried other new foods. They also serve a delicious mango smoothie. We all danced in our seats to the Indian music. Such a pleasant place for a special lunch!

Went here for a birthday staff was amazing. Seating was quick, the atmosphere was great. The tiki masala chicken was a five out of five, the rice was a five out of five. The Naan bread was a three out of five. The bottom was cooked a little too long on the bottom it was kinda hard and not as strong of flavor as I expected . The butter chicken was a five out of five. The vegetarian dish was a five out of five the drink that my wife ordered was a five out of five when you're talking about Portion sizes more than generous. they allowed us to bring a cake for the birthday . Waiter was hilarious. Had a really good time. I would definitely come back if you've never been you should come and give them a try.

Quick service on a weekend. Buffet is still open. Wished there was slightly more selection, but it's all you can eat, so I can't complain too much! Food is freshly prepared, everything tastes homemade, and you can tell it's popular because every single table in the restaurant was occupied. Pricing is pretty reasonable too - I think I recall it being $24/person for weekend buffet pricing, and a bit cheaper for weekday. Our server was super friendly and gracious, and we had a pleasant time dining in. There was a mix of booth and table seating. Also, the chai was great. Some of the best I've had with the right amount of tea and spices, didn't taste diluted or watery at all.

Came here for a quick lunch, I chose the buffet that way I could eat my heart out and sample all the great options they had. The food was really good, it had just enough spice and not to spicy. Everything on the buffet is a must try, the dessert included. The service I felt could've been better, which it has been in the past. It wasn't busy during the time I was there, so I felt my server could've been more attentive clearing my table of the plates. I'll definitely be back and I recommend eating here.
